I signed up for Michael Furr’s standup class feeling very nervous. I’m not used to putting myself out there but I decided to challenge myself. Honestly I would take the class again if I could. Michael provided such a supportive environment. He was always positive but also realistic. He really cared about our individual success, whether that meant pursuing a career in comedy or just getting out of our comfort zones. Even after the class wrapped, Michael still supported us. He continued to encourage us and provided us with opportunities to refine and showcase our talents. I could not have asked for a better teacher.”

I had the pleasure of participating in Michael Furr's "Welcome to Stand Up!" class, and it was a game-changer for me. I had always wanted to try stand-up comedy, but my fear held me back. For me taking Michael's class was intended to be a step in my journey to conquer my fear of public speaking. In that class I learned to confidently stand in front of strangers, engage them and also to make them laugh. I learned to organize my ideas in ways that enhanced the humor. We talked technique, good practices and so much more. Michael is a genuine, kind and generous person who created a supportive, nurturing class environment. I can't say enough good things about this Introduction to Stand-up class. I highly recommend it.
